The Marlin 1894 Dark Series (Model 70904)is a modern interpretation of the traditional Marlin lever-action rifle, combining classic lever-action operationwith contemporary featuresfor sporting use, hunting, and the use of modern optics. The model is manufactured by Rugerand is based on the proven Marlin 1894 systemwith side ejection and a solid steel receiver.

The heart of the rifle is the robust lever-action systemwith a tubular magazine, chambered for .357 Magnumcaliber. The 16.17-inch (41.1 cm) cold hammer-forged barrelmade of alloy steel features a 1/2"-28 muzzle threadand comes standard with a radial muzzle brake. A thread protectoris also included. The cold hammer-forged barrelis designed for uniform bore geometry and high manufacturing quality.

The Dark Serieshas been consistently prepared for the use of modern aiming aids. A factory-mounted Picatinny railallows for the mounting of scopes or red dot sights. The equipment is complemented by an adjustable ghost ring sightand a fiber optic front sight with a tritium ring, which aids target acquisition even in challenging light conditions.

The stock and forend are made of durable fiberglass-reinforced polymer. The stock features integrated QD sling swivel mounts, a raised cheek restfor use with optics, and a generously sized rubber recoil pad. The aluminum forendoffers additional M-LOK interfacesfor mounting compatible accessories.

The exterior metal parts are finished with a durable Graphite Black Cerakote coating. The bolt and lever also feature nitriding to increase surface hardness and wear resistance. The tubular magazine holds 8 rounds of .357 Magnum. The rifle features both a classic half-cock hammer safetyand an additional push-button cross-bolt safety.
